Quotes
'Graham listened to what was needed. It was a great experience and all our staff
would benefit from attending his course. Thanks Graham, great day!' David
Carruthers, GP, Cape Cornwall Surgery, St. Just 'The
main benefit of the course for me was that it allowed time to reflect on the way
we communicate with each other.' Sarah Shaw, GP, Stennack Surgery, St. Ives 'Everyone
would benefit from attending this course' Jan de Plessis, GP, Cape Cornwall
Surgery 'Graham
Smith is clearly confident and competent in his subject. I found the course to
be helpful for everyday life and potentially of benefit to all our staff.' Dan
Rainbow, GP, Stennack Surgery, St. Ives 'I
found the course made you more aware of the way you are understood and the way
people think and has made a change in the way I ask questions.' Sian
Matthews, Admin, Cape Cornwall Surgery 'The
feedback from delegates has been extremely positive. Delegates have said that
Graham is a highly skilled and empathetic trainer who is able to adapt to their
needs. In particular, feedback has been extremely positive from the delegates
who have received one-to-one coaching and mentoring from Graham.' T.S.,
Training Manager, East Sussex, Brighton and Hove Health Authority.
The Eastman Institute
Strictly speaking,
the Eastman Institute is not part of the NHS. It's the post graduate training
centre for dentistry of the University of London. I worked with a team of dentists
to develop a rapid treatment for phobic and highly anxious patients - we succeeded.
The resulting
technique, the Guided Eye-Movement Induction (GEMI) has proved to be a reliable
and effective treatment that works especially well for patients who are already
in the phobic state. As a result, I was invited to devise and deliver a training
on Anxiety Prevention for the Institute, something I did for a number of years.
